Phonology Linguistics
Assalamualaikum everyone
On this new blog i will write about Phonology
What is phonology?
Phonology is the study of how sounds are organized and used in natural languages. In phonology also discusses the sound and its meaning as well as difference in how the sound is produced and when the sound is produced. For example the words "sin" and "seen" ,both are pronounced differently and the meanings are also different.
There are two kinds of phonology, phonetic and phonemic. Phonetics is the study of how the phonemic sounds of a language are pronounced. Whereas phonetic science studies the workings of human organs, especially those related to the use and pronunciation of languages. So, phonetics is a part of phonology that studies how to produce language sounds or how a language sound is produced by human speech devices. Meanwhile, phonemic is a part of phonology which studies the sound of speech according to its function as a differentiator of meaning.
The rules in Phonology
1Phonetic
Phonetic is the study of how sounds are properly produced by humans.
2.The tool says
Organs in the human body that function in the pronunciation of language, namely the lungs, larynx, pharynx, nasal cavity, oral cavity, lips, teeth, tongue, alveolum, palate, velum, and uvula.
3.Phonation process
Phonation or sound process is a process of vocal cords in the throat producing sounds. Well, there are two kinds of sounds produced, namely vowels and consonants.
4.Vocal Classification
Vocal classification is a method for compiling data systematically or according to some rules or rules that have been set in classifying vocals / votes.
5.Language classification
Language classification is a method for compiling data systematically or according to some rules or rules that have been set in grouping languages.
6.Syllable
Syllables or syllables are one or more phonemes which are marked by a peak of loudness of the phoneme which is located in the vowel.
Phonology is an important part of the sound or sound in language pronunciation, therefore it is necessary to learn this. In addition, phonology is the study of equivalent organizational systems in sign language. After studying this linguistics, we will know the sound system or rules of sound produced.
So guys, that's all I can write. Please comment and correct it if there are mistakes. Thanks for reading

Same with sis fransiska...you explanation so good
BalasHapusThank you monic
Hapuswhat ?? what is the same as the blog kak fransiska this explanation becomes good sis monic ??😂😂😂
Hapushahah you're cute sis monik😍😘
Can you give me one example of phonology ?
BalasHapusFor example on the word "seen" and "sin". "seen"/si:n/ read long (dibaca panjang) and for "sin" /sin/ (dibaca pendek) both sound different and the meaning is different
HapusI love watching harry potter without subtitle but sometimes the sounds heard same . Although the sound and scane are not coheren . So i wanna ask how i can different the sound?
Hapus
Hapuswow good question sis naila. I like the question sister .😉.
hmmm i'm also confused about that ..😥. but sis. should we not just find out on YouTube or other trusted sources😆
@naila Of course it sounds the same, when we watch a movie without subtitles in a language that is different from our daily language for example by using English, Korean or other languages it is very difficult to distinguish it when we listen to it. I think you need to use the English subtitles, by looking at the words written there then you will be able to distinguish them 👍
HapusHey ayu if you want to search from other reliable sources, then go looking, don't appear on my blog and make me confused. Why are you always confused, naila is reasonable to ask because she read the contents of my blog. But you told her to look for answers at a reliable source, what your real problem was 😡🤔
HapusHahahaha..no need to be angry with Ayu Suryani...🤣🤣🤣 She has a new hobby right now.It is bullying..and Mr.Budi support her to do more..🤗🤗 So..don't be shock if you find another bullying from Ayu..She is enjoy her bullying time eternally..😉😉
HapusHaha, you are right sis dewi 😂. Well now I will try to understand ayu, but I just want to give a little advice for ayu to be better at commenting and not make others confused. Keep the spirit yu 💪💪💪
HapusGood explanation
BalasHapusThank you sarah
Hapushaha ... sis sarah please please don't be too flat 😆.. hihi
Hapushelp me sis to understand the word good explanation??😥
Hii..Sarah fadillah...may I suggest you to write down long comment ?? 😄😄 It is necessary to do..because the short comment can't be publish out for mr.budi task..🐣🐣..common sarah..improve your creativity to make a long comment..👭
HapusYa Allahu Robbii Yaa Kariim...🙄🙄🙄@Ayu Suryani..you came every blog to bullying...🤣🤣🤣woooww...it'a an amazing..👏👏👏 please Please continue to develop your bully potential ayu...😅😄
HapusDesi, What is the different of phonology and phonetic, can you give me an example of the both to make me understand that ?
BalasHapusHello Sis Ester. 😊😊..Why do you ask questions different of phonetics and phonology. What Do you think that phonetics and phonology are the same thing?😊😊 thankyou...
HapusYup that's right ayu...😊😊
Hapusbecause they talk about sound right ? and i dont know what is the different of them ayu, maybe you want to help me ? do you understand about it ayu ? if yes, maybe you can help me to understand about it hehehe 😊😊
🌸 Salam EsJuCoal
Phonology studies the focus on how the pronunciation of sound, while phonetic is the result of sound pronunciation in the form of sound and is used as a tool to communicate . Example of phonology on the word "seen" and "sin" both sound different and the meaning is different.Example for phonetics, usually when we want to know how to read a word, we can see it in the dictionary because there is a phonetics symbol in it. I hope you understand, if not. Forgive me 🙏
BalasHapusOh okay.. Thank you for your explanation about that but if you give an example with entry sound in this blog, it will be good blog and it will be interested ...
HapusActually I don't know yet how to reply to comments by voice. I will try to find it, thank you for your advice.
HapusOr can you provide another solution?
Maybe you can make a video about phonology you can explain there how the pronounce then you can upload on facebook or youtube after that you can add the link here in your blog. So we can hear also and make us more understand tham before .
HapusHi naila, Thank you for the advice. I will try to be able to do the advice you give. But I need time for that
HapusYup that's right desi...
HapusDesi,, you can ask google how to add sound how to add video...
So, don't think it to much, first of all if you want to write your blog, you have to happy, then you will be find your ways to know to make this blog more interested desi...
Keep spirit desi 🌸 Salam EsJuCoal
Thank you Ester, I'll try. Hopefully everything goes according to plan, because remembering our college assignments are piled up this week. But I will try 💪
HapusKeep spirit Desi 🌸👍
HapusYou said phonology focus on the pronunciation a word. so, I want to ask to you, can you tell me about some general rules on the pronunciation of the letter "s" ? When the letter "s" is pronounced /s/ like in the words "disappointment" , "promise" … and
when it is pronounced /z/ eg: present
Thank you 😊🌸Salam EsJuCoal
Say “Z when the word ends in a vowel or other voiced sound like the m, n, ng, l, b, d, g, v, voiced th, or r sound. For example in the words goes and guys.
HapusSay “S when the word ends in a voiceless sound like a p, t, k, f, or voiceless th sound. For example in the words cups and cats
wow good idea ... iis i like this time sis ester. 😘😘the idea is always great ... but I guess sis. if the sister who gave the example of the voice then the sister who was placed in the comment .. emmm it was great.😍😍 especially sister already understand what is explained by kak desi
Hapuswkwkwkw ... what are you asking sis desi. the initial solution sis ester, you can not match.😃😃 want to use another solution ...😥😥.. hihi you so cute baby😍😍
HapusYes, what I explained was true😍, you should make a video to explain ... but no problem☺... this is just a response too. yet others can also see for themselves through YouTube😉😉. so don't think about time ... you're still cool😙😙
HapusSis Ester may I ask the sister ☺who asked "if you want to write this blog you must be happy ??"
Hapusthen if we are sad then want to spare our sadness to the blog. 😥..
how's that
should you wait happily first then write?
Hapushey hey sis desii😍😍 ... please please don't make your college assignments a burden that piles up .😞😞.. you really have to try and not try. . 😒😒. because being a college student is your choice now☺☺😊
hi sis desi. I like the answer to my sister ester question ..
Hapusthat questions the mention of the letter s ..??
already illustrated by the older sister explanation 😊😊.. and sorry I don't believe in your answer.😊 . . I just do not want to praise without proof ..😉 so maybe I will find out also the answer to the ester question ...through other sources ... sorry in advance ..
but I like you answer😍😍
Hi ayu, thank you for talking so much. But I will respond to your last words, you may not believe my answer because it's your right. But all I know is that, if you have other opinions, please give. I will gladly accept it
HapusYour explanation so good sis Desi😊 . But, can you give me the example about phonology ?
BalasHapusPhonology consists of 2 parts, namely phonemic and phonetics. For examples of phonemic is the word right and Light, from both words we can see the 'r' and 'l' which are distinguishing words and their meanings. For example phonetics usually found in the phonetic symbol instructions contained in the english dictionary
HapusOkey desi. Thank you for your explanation.😊😊😊😊 I think I understand with your explanation. Keep writing desi and do the best for the next time yeahhh!!! 😉😉😉
HapusWow, I'm happy if you understand the explanation I gave 😊😊😊
HapusThank you for visiting my blog and encouraging me to continue to make a better blog. You also need to be passionate about creating a blog. We can learn together to create interesting blogs 🌼
Yes desi, i'm happy visit your blog😘😘. Because i think your blog very interesting for me. Keep writing desi😊😊😊 i want you guide me ti learn together desi. Maybe next time we can learn together yeahhh🌼🌼🌼

HapusOh hera, how could I guide you. While you are better than me, I should study with you hera 😂
But no problem, we will learn together soon and it will be better if we do study together right ??? 😉
hi desi, i heard a little about phonology and phonetic differences. and here I want to know from your own opinion what the second difference is. but what I want is your own opinion. explain as clearly as possible so that I understand :)
BalasHapusIn my opinion the difference between phonology and phonetics is, if phonology studies the pronunciation system that leads to when words are spoken differently then the meaning is also different. Whereas phonetics learns about how the sound is produced by human speech devices in saying a word. I hope you understand refi
Hapus
Hapusyes desi, of course I understand because your explanation is easy to understand, but I want to know, from where you can find out if there is a reference or something you learn from articles or from the internet? heheh sorry I want to know wkwwk
Yes, of course refi, I have references from several websites so I can conclude that. Do you need the link to find out more about phonology ?.
HapusIf so, I'll look for it. Because I honestly forgot the link when I learned that. Haha 😂
Ohhh hi sis desi😊😊😊. Why you forget the link when you learned about phonology??? . I have a suggestion for you. If you learn something don't forget the link or reference okeyy... So you can share your knowledge😉😊😊🌼🌼🌼
HapusSo, sis desi😊😊😊. Don't worry about my suggestion yeahh... 😉😉🌻🌻🌻It's just a little suggestion from me. Keep writing, keep spirit and do the best yeahhh sis😉😉🌸🌸🌸

HapusYes hera I'm sorry for that 🙁, when trying to give an explanation of phonology I visited a lot of websites to be used as a reference. So I forgot which one, and thank you hera for giving good advice 🌼. At other times I will not forget the reference to be told to others 😊
HapusHello hera, that doesn't matter 😊. Your advice is very good, in fact I'm very happy if you give a good advice. So that I can try to be better next time 💖. Keep giving a good suggestion hera, I think everyone needs advice 😊😊😊
HapusAh don't need to praise it like that, sis dewi, I can fly while reading it 😂Btw thank you for the compliment sis 🙏, yes I will make myself smart and my friends also by studying together 💖 and I'm also glad sis dewi to be someone close to you. Because you are better than me, I learned a lot from you 😊🤗
HapusHi desi We discuss the same material which is about phonology😀😀 As we know there are many experts in interpreting phonology. I am take more references from kridalaksana. Because I think his opinion can be understood easily. If I may know, who are you taking references from and what is the reason you are taking references?
BalasHapusHi hera, yes we are discussing the same material which is phonology. I took a lot of references from David Crystal because the reason is I better understand the opinions presented and I do not feel confused reading these opinions. I also took some explanation from one of the websites on Google 🙏
HapusOhh, good sis desi😊😊😊🌸🌸🌸. May i know Where did you get your explanation from Google sis desi? If there's a link on Google, can you send me a link sis??? Thank you🌻🌻🌻
HapusHi hera, this is one of the links that became my reference to explain about phonology http://adiel87.blogspot.com/2009/11/artikel-bertajuk-what-what-is-phonology.html?m=1. You can visit the website link and hopefully you get new knowledge there. Hope it is useful for you 🤗🤗🤗
HapusDesi you cant apply a good template ? Your template is very flat . If you really dont understand how to apply it , you just have too see it in youtube . Ok desi , i hope when i visiting your blog later , the tamplet has changed 😉😉😉
BalasHapusHi Sarah, thank you for giving criticism. But in my opinion I don't need to make another template, this is good enough and interesting. I feel that everyone who opens my blog easily understands the contents of this blog and does not feel disturbed. Maybe I will change the template if many people feel disturbed 😉😉😉
HapusAnyonggg desiii , des in my opinion you should put the video into your blog , because this is learning about the sound so you cant explain everything with words , tq😊😊😊
BalasHapusAnnyeong sarah, thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I've made a video on my other blog, maybe you haven't seen it. You can visit it and leave a comment there too, I will be happy to reply to it 😊😊😊

BalasHapusMaybe sis, I have nothing to delete. I'm not that bad at deleting other people's comments because I don't like it, if I delete it the text will appear in the comments column. Maybe there is a problem happening sis, I also do not know 😬😬😬
HapusIt is okeyy..maybe I got trouble in my internet access when I put my comment here..Because..You're my fourth friends I've been visiting since this blog came up...😗😗😗😗😗

HapusI see, okay that's no problem sis. You can make another comment sis if you want 😁 Internet network problems are sometimes annoying to make our activities so uncomfortable, because the Internet is one of the important things for our current activities 😁😁😁
HapusOh I will be happy to help you sis, later I will try to visit your blog and help answer questions from sis fransiska . Hopefully I can help you and make sis frans feel satisfied with the answers we give 😎😎😎
HapusHayyy Desi Masari, the explanation above you said that Phonology is the study of how sounds are organized and used in natural languages. can you explain what natural languages ? I will waiting for you answer .thanks
BalasHapusHi sarah😊😊, I will try to answer your question for desi.
HapusLanguage can be divided into 2 namely natural language and artificial language. Natural language is the language used by humans to communicate, for example regional languages, English, Japanese, and so on. While artificial languages are languages that are deliberately made specifically for certain needs, such as computer programming languages. So, sarah I think the example for natural language is like you speak every day, like eat, drink, open and many else. I will give you link so you can more understand sarah

Hi Sarah, it has been helped by Hera answering your questions. I don't think I need to explain anymore, because I will explain the same thing with hera 😀

HapusHayy Desi Thank you for your explanation of phonology, but if you can add this teaching material to your opinions from the experts and examples in your blog 🤗🤗
BalasHapusOh hey, you again sarah. For the expert opinion that I took to explain phonology is David crystal but that I explained in a blog that contains a video there more complete and there are examples of it. You can visit my blog which contains a video about an explanation of phonology. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
HapusHayyy Desi I am someone who is studying the science of morphology, in the science of morphology there are very many opinions of experts about the science of morphology itself. do you have the opinion in phonology too? if there is give me an opinion of experts about phonolgy along with examples thanks 🤗🤗
BalasHapusThere are several definitions of phonology according to experts as follows:
Hapus1. As stated by Kridalaksana (2002), according to him, quoted from the linguistic dictionary, phonology has a field meaning in linguistics that studies various language sounds based on their function.
2. Based on the Big Indonesian Dictionary (Depdikbud, 1988: 244), phonology has the meaning of the study of sound sounds, especially related to history and sound change theory.
3. Based on an explanation from Abdul Chaer (2003: 102), based on etymology the term "phonology" is formed from the word "phon" which means "sound" while "logi" has the meaning as "science". So, in general can be said that phonology has the meaning of science that studies the sound of language that is generally used by humans.
4.Verhaar (1984: 36) also explains that phonology has a significant meaning in which a science that studies the special field of linguistics that examines the sound of a particular language in accordance with its function aims to be a differentiator between lexical meaning in a language.
5. According to Keraf, 1984: 30. Phonology can be interpreted as part of the language structure that studies the sounds of language
6.Fromkin & Rodman explains the Definition of Phonology where phonology is a field of linguistics that observes, studies, analyzes and speaks related to language grammar.
7. Definition of phonology based on what was said by Trubetzkoy (1962: 11-12), phonology is the study of languages related to the language system, language organization and is a study of the linguistic function of language.
8. While according to Daniel Jones, the definition of phonology is the sound system of a language.
How are you desi masari ?? Hmm Waw. What a good explanation desi masari 👍. i love it so much 💖 . we have a same topic . maybe we can learn about this together 👭. want you ???#Jeje💞💞
BalasHapusHi jeje, I'm good. I hope you are also well there. Yes we have the same material theme, of course we can study together so we can have more knowledge. I don't think anyone will refuse to study together with you je 😉💖
HapusThank you for liking my blog and leaving a comment here 🌼
Hii @Jeje..and @Desi..nice to meet you here.Don't forget to coming to my blog often...🤗🤗🤗 Yeah. I invite you with all my love and affection explode..❤💚❤💚❤..*Make yourselves at home*...hahahaha...😉😉
HapusHello friend, first time I visit your blog. I like your performance and I have a question with your topic please you answer.
BalasHapusHow do you know the division of phonology? give examples in everyday life in each of these types of division ?
Hello tengku reni, nice to see you visit my blog and leave a comment here. As far as I know phonology is divided into two parts, namely phonetic and phonemic. For example in daily life, the example of phonetics is when we try to say a word in English, we can see the dictionary and phonetics symbols to find out how we can pronounce it well through spoken utilities. And for phonemic, because phonemic focuses on distinguishing meaning. So if we find a word that is similar but the pronunciation is different and of course it has a different meaning, we can distinguish it. For example, as in the word see and sea, the letters "e" and "a" are the differentiators. Hopefully you understand, and if there are other questions you can ask me again. Thank you 🙏
Hapushi desi, your blog is good, i like the color, and it's simple?
BalasHapusThank you nurhasini for visiting my blog and leaving a comment here 😊
HapusAnd for the compliment, thank you too, but you don't need to praise it that way because in my opinion my blog isn't very good. There are still many better ones, hehe 😁
What do you mean by the question mark at the end of your sentence ?. I do not understand 😅
haii nur, you're right desi blog is very good in explaining but in terms of aesthetics I think it's not simple but it's very flat , sorry 😑😑😑😑
HapusYes Sarah you're right, I feel also the writing on my blog is less orderly and seems flat. I will try to make a better blog next time. Please always give me spirit 😊😊💖
Hapusif I may suggest should you add experts and examples of phonology?
BalasHapusYes you are right nurhasini, I did forget to give opinions from experts there but for example I think there you might not see it. Next time I will make a more complete explanation so that there are no obstruction questions for people who visit my blog. Thank's before 🙏
Hapuscan explain dung, what is an example of phomology in your life?
BalasHapusExamples of phonology in my life ? 🤔 Ah maybe you mean the example of phonology in daily life. For an example of phonology is when we speak, that is, when we say a word, then we will be able to pronounce it well and the meaning is conveyed well to our interlocutors. And sometimes there are words that are similar in pronunciation, but the meaning is different and there is one distinguishing letter. For example in the words "see" and "sea", the pronunciation is almost similar but the meaning is different. The difference is the letters "e" and "a" in both sentences. I hope you understand the explanation I gave 😊
Hapus
